So apparently it’s going to be sunny all week.
And thank-god for that.
I don’t know why, after so many years in Vancouver, I still feel so unprepared for the rain.
Could have something to do with the fact that I really don’t want to wear MEC or Taiga. Two great great companies, if you are into that sort of thing. I’m not.
So, let’s talk about rain style.
Last week was comfort style, now it’s rain style. I am becoming SO practical.
Firstly, you need rain boots.
These are my favourite, Native’s. For when you are tired of wearing Hunter’s.
Or you could do Frye’s, I posted about these last year.
I still love them, they are totally waterproof, and perfect for the playground.
If buckles scare you, you can also wear these.
Not really as waterproof, but it’s not like your feet will be soaked..
Personally I have decided to keep a bucket by the front door with all kinds of umbrellas, again with the practicality.
However, for those of us with small children (can’t help the mumma references), there are a lot of days that you just need a hood. Who has a spare hand for an umbrella? I don’t .
I chose two coats from Aritzia, sure they aren’t waterproof, but the hoods are big. Big hoods are more important.
I know, I know, a lot of grey. I just think it’s better than black.
I have a thing for coats, I don’t know why, it’s not even like you wear them all day. Here is this week’s favourite.
It’s Maje. Incidentally, Sandro and Maje are both at The Bay, and both also have great rain boots..
Oh, and hats.. On rainy days, hats protect your hair from the frizz. Vancouver frizzy hair, UGH.
Protecting hair, AND wearing comfort shoes. Brilliant.
